When you open your home to a rescue pet, you are not just giving them safety. You are giving them a future and a chance to feel loved again.
Every adoption helps break the cycle created by puppy mills, backyard breeders, and neglect. It also makes room for us to save the next animal in need, and the next one after that.

How Adoption Works

At Murci’s Mission we believe that animal rights and human rights go hand in hand. Our goal is to play match maker and help you find a pet who truly fits your home, your lifestyle, and your heart. We keep the entire process as smooth and supportive as possible.

  • Choose either the canine or feline application. Once we receive it, one of our volunteers reviews it and reaches out within one to three business days. We are a completely volunteer based rescue, so response times can vary when we are caring for a large number of animals or requests, but we always get back to you as soon as we can. During this time you can ask us anything. We are here to help.

  • Our first priority is the well being of the animal. We contact your veterinarian and we also check in with your landlord or property manager to make sure pets are allowed in your home. We will ask for a short video tour of your space so we can ensure everything is safe and comfortable for your future pet.

  • Once your application is approved we schedule a meet and greet. This is your moment to connect with the animal and see how you feel together.

  • If it feels right, you can bring your new friend home that day or begin a foster to adopt period. This gives you both time to decompress, settle in, and make sure it is a wonderful fit.

  • We are a foster based rescue, and we are always grateful for people who can offer a safe, cozy place for an animal to land while they wait for their forever family. If you are interested in fostering, the process is very similar to adoption. You fill out an application, we do the same safety checks, and then we match you with an animal who needs you.

Sometimes all an animal needs to become someone’s perfect companion is a room in someone’s home and time to heal. Murcis takes care of vet bills, food, and litter, and there is a wonderful support system if I ever need help. If you’re concerned about having trouble letting the animals you foster go, here’s what I think every time: Murcis has done everything they can to find this animal a stable, loving home. When they move on, I get to help another cat who needs my help to change their life and find a good home. Goodbye is the goal!"
